I have a complaint, what can I do?

If you have a complaint about our products or service, please contact us via the contact form, klantenservice@chesterfieldbags.com, or call (050) 763 08 89. You will not receive an acknowledgment of receipt for your complaint, but we will respond within 2 business days. If you purchased a product from one of our retailers and wish to return it or have a complaint about it, please contact the store where you bought the product first. If you bought a Second Chance product and have questions or complaints about it, we refer you to this page: Second Chance. Unfortunately, we cannot offer our usual warranty on these products. If you are not satisfied with the handling of your complaint, you can submit it to the Thuiswinkel Dispute Committee, Postbus 90600, 2509 LP The Hague (www.sgc.nl). You can also submit your complaint to the Dispute Committee via the European ODR Platform (http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/).

What is the warranty on your products?

All items you buy from us come with a statutory warranty. Statutory warranty means that a product is or must do what the consumer can reasonably expect from it.

Do you have a physical store?

No, The Chesterfield Brand does not have its own physical stores. However, many retailers are affiliated with us, and many of them do have physical stores. They will be happy to welcome you in the store.

Returns

Can I exchange an item?

Unfortunately, we cannot exchange your returned items. However, you can return the item you wish to exchange and place a new order for the item you wish to receive.

How do I return an item?

If you use our return procedure, you can return the order. In this case, we charge €3.95 return costs, which we will deduct from the amount to be credited. Of course, you can also return the products via another carrier, but the costs will be on you. The gift wrapping will not be credited.
You have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 30 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 30 days after the day you or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier, physically takes possession of the product.
Returning your order is easy and quick. Register your return via our website. Keep your postal code and track & trace code at hand. Returns from Switzerland, Greece, or outside Europe are at your own expense. Please note that customs clearance costs are also involved. The costs for returning via a carrier other than DPD are not reimbursed by us.

Have you received my returned item?

Once we have received your returned goods, we will send you an email. Processing a return takes between 3 to 5 working days.

What are my cancellation rights?

You have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 30 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 30 days after the day you or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier, physically takes possession of the goods. To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the agreement by means of an unequivocal statement (e.g., in writing by post, fax, or email). You can use the model withdrawal form (see bottom of the page), but you are not obliged to do so. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired. If you withdraw from the agreement, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for any additional costs resulting from your choice of a different delivery method than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us) without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this agreement. If you return only part of your order, delivery costs will not be refunded. We will refund you using the same payment method you used for the original transaction unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, no fees will be charged for such reimbursement. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest. You must return the goods without undue delay and in any event no later than 30 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this agreement to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 30 days has expired. A fee of €3.95 will be charged for returning the goods. Even if you return via a carrier other than DPD, the costs will not be reimbursed by us. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods. How will my order be shipped?

Orders within the EU and to the UK are shipped with DPD. The carrier for orders to other countries may vary. We carefully pack your order in a sturdy box. Once your order has been picked up from our warehouse, you will receive an email at the address you provided with a track & trace code. If you have created an account, you can also find the current information about your order there.

What is the status of my order?

You will be kept informed about your order at various stages of the shipping process via email. If you have an account, you can log in and check the status of your order under "My Orders".

What is the delivery time for products from The Chesterfield Brand?

If a product is in stock and you order it on a working day* before 3:30 PM, your purchase will be shipped the same day. You can recognize a product that is currently out of stock by the button "Email me when available." You can leave your email address, and once the product is back in stock in our warehouse, you will be notified. It is difficult for us to say how long this might take: it can be two weeks, but it may take longer. Do you need the product soon? Then contact our customer service at customerservice@chesterfieldbags.com.
*On Fridays, orders placed before 3:00 PM are shipped the same day.

Als een product op voorraad is en je bestelt deze op werkdagen* voor 15.30 uur, dan wordt jouw aankoop diezelfde dag nog verzonden. Een product dat momenteel niet voorradig is, herken je aan de knop Stuur mij een email zodra leverbaar. Je kunt jouw mailadres achterlaten en zodra het product weer op voorraad ligt in ons magazijn, krijg jij een seintje.

To which countries do you ship orders?

On this page, you will find an overview of delivery times and shipping costs per country. We depend on our delivery partner for the delivery times and unfortunately have no control over any delays.

Can I pick up my order?

Normally, it is no problem if you want to pick up your order at our office in Assen. In that case, it is important that you first contact our customer service. You can do this by email (customerservice@chesterfieldbags.com) or by phone (+31 50 763 08 89).

Can I pick up my order at a DPD pick-up point?

Yes, you can. When placing an order, you can enter the address of the desired pick-up point as the delivery address. You will receive an email when your order is ready for pickup.

Where do The Chesterfield Brand products come from?

All our products come from India. Creating this unique leather requires craftsmanship, attention, and passion. We work with various suppliers from India, our leather partners. Through years of collaboration, daily contact, and frequent factory visits, we are able to build something beautiful together. For us, it is not a goal but a requirement that every link in the chain benefits from the production of our bags. To ensure this, we only work with SA8000 and/or SEDEX certified factories. All the leather we use also meets the REACH standard, and a large part is already vegetable-tanned (i.e., chrome-free), also known as wet white tanning. The hides used for our products come from various countries, mainly India and Poland. For 90% of our products, we use cowhide leather, and the remaining 10% is made from buffalo leather. Many people do not know that leather is a by-product of the meat industry. For us, this is an excellent opportunity to create a beautiful and sustainable product. By processing these cowhides in different ways, you get different types of leather. Through years of experience, we have developed our Cow Wax Pull Up leather. This leather is produced with natural waxes and oils, resulting in a unique soft and supple finish. Moreover, you can easily recondition this type of leather with this wax, creating a durable product that lasts for years.

What types of leather does The Chesterfield Brand use?

At The Chesterfield Brand, we have an absolute fascination for leather. You need to smell it, feel it, and then you know if you have a beautiful piece of leather in your hands. Creating that soft, supple leather time and again and then transforming it into a stylish and functional leather bag that you can enjoy for years takes a lot of effort. That is precisely what we at The Chesterfield Brand dedicate ourselves to every day. We use various types of leather: Cow Wax Pull Up leather, Antique Crust Cow leather, Antique Buff Crumbled leather, Washed Vintage Cow leather, and Soft Class leather. Why are The Chesterfield Brand products never discounted?

Good question! At The Chesterfield Brand, we want to prove that things can be done differently and that everyone can positively benefit from better working and living conditions in the leather industry. Every link in our cycle is equally and fairly rewarded. Raw materials and materials are sourced with respect for nature and people, and we strictly and personally ensure that all production processes are carried out to European standards. The Chesterfield Brand offers an above-average reward for the efforts and investments of our retailers. We can do this by asking a fair price for our products, without discounts!

What can I do if a product is out of stock?

It is possible that a product is (temporarily) out of stock. You can leave your email address on the product page. You will be the first to receive an email when this product is back in stock.

How can I best maintain my product?

You naturally want to take good care of your favorite leather bag or accessory. Therefore, we advise you to maintain these products well. Our advice is to treat your Chesterfield item at least four times a year. For optimal maintenance, we have developed several high-quality products: leather wax.
This is a cleaning and maintenance product in one! This wax provides optimal protection and nourishes the leather. It is colorless and can therefore be used for all leather colors. The wax dries quickly and does not stick. To make it easier for you, we have made an instruction video. You can find it on our page: maintenance tips.
Additionally, we also have a protection spray in our collection. This spray has been developed in collaboration with the manufacturer for an optimal result for our products and ensures that the leather bag does not rub off on clothing. For The Chesterfield Brand leather bags, which are mainly made of Wax Pull Up leather, there is a risk of the leather rubbing off on light clothing, especially in combination with warm weather and perspiration. You can easily prevent this by regularly spraying the bag with The Chesterfield Brand's color fix spray.

*It is not possible to ship our Protection Spray or Leather Wax Spray outside the EU.

Are The Chesterfield Brand products waterproof?

It can happen that you get caught in the rain with your leather bag. Generally, leather resists water quite well, but we do not guarantee that our bags are 100% waterproof. A short shower should not be a problem (provided all zippers are properly closed). If the bag is exposed to moisture for an extended period, it may penetrate the inside of the bag. Again, this refers to prolonged exposure. If you maintain your bag well with our leather wax, you will most likely avoid these problems!

Can the color of my bag rub off on my clothing?

A leather bag can rub off on light clothing. The extent to which this happens depends on the type of leather. For The Chesterfield Brand leather bags, this mainly applies to bags made of Wax Pull Up leather. The chance of this is higher in combination with warm weather and perspiration.

Fortunately, you can easily remedy this by regularly spraying the bag with our color fix spray. This spray has been developed in collaboration with the manufacturer for an optimal result for our products. Do you want to know what type of leather your bag is made of? You can find this information in the specifications of the respective product.

Are the prices inclusive of VAT?

Whether you see prices inclusive of VAT depends on your location and whether you have already entered your shipping address.

Do you sell gift cards?

Would you like to surprise someone with a gift card from The Chesterfield Brand? That's possible! We sell gift cards in a luxury gift packaging. You can choose from several amounts.

How can I place an order?

We are delighted that you want to place an order! We aim to make it as easy as possible for you. You can order in three simple steps:

  • Proceed to checkout and enter your details. Don't forget to check them carefully.
  • Complete your order by paying. You can pay with a gift card, credit card, iDEAL, or AfterPay.
  • Once your order is complete, you will receive an order confirmation from us. This will include more information about the delivery of your order.

Do I need an account to order?

You do not need an account to order from our webshop. One of the benefits of having an account is that you can track your previous orders and check the status of your current order. Creating an account is easy and can be done during checkout.

What is the VAT rate for orders within the EU?

How do I pay for my order?

Once you have filled in the payment page and agreed to the terms and conditions, you will be redirected to the payment page. We accept various payment methods, including a gift card, iDEAL, PayPal, credit card, and AfterPay. More information about the different payment methods can be found here. You can pay with a gift card from The Chesterfield Brand. You can order this in our webshop, and you will receive a gift card with a discount code. You can enter this discount code during checkout.

Can I pay for my order afterward?

Yes, you can! Choose the Klarna payment method and pay for your order after receiving it. We do not charge extra costs for this service.

When do I pay shipping costs?

The shipping costs depend on the location to where the order should be shipped.

For orders under €50, we charge €4.95 for shipping. Orders over €50 that are shipped to the Netherlands, Germany, or Belgium receive free shipping.

Is it possible to receive an invoice without VAT?

Yes, it is. Please contact customerservice@chesterfieldbags.com if you wish to place a business order. Send your Company No, Shipping Address and VAT No.
