How can I return an item?

You can easily return your order through our return procedure. We charge a return fee of €4.95, which will be deducted from the amount you receive back. It is possible to choose a different carrier, but we do not cover these costs. Gift packaging is non-refundable.

Different rules apply for customers outside EU.

How does returning work for customers outside the EU?

If you're living outside the EU, you'll need to cover the return shipping costs yourself. All shipping costs are on you. You have 30 days to return unwanted items for a refund. Just make sure the items are returned in the same condition as when you received them: new and with the tags still attached. Items returned after 30 days aren’t eligible for a refund. If you need to fill out a customs form, be sure to label the items as 'returned goods,' since The Chesterfield Brand doesn't cover return customs fees.

How long does it take for my return to be processed and to get my money back?

It usually takes about 3 to 5 business days for your return to be processed, and you’ll get an email to confirm that. Make sure to check your spam folder too, just in case. 

Once you’ve received the email confirming your return has been processed, the refund will be initiated. This can take up to 14 days at most. 

How do I best care for my leather item(s)?

As soon as you get your product, it's ready to use. We don't recommend treating it with leather wax beforehand.To make sure your leather item(s) last as long as possible, we recommend maintaining them regularly. Treat your Chesterfield Brand item(s) at least 4 times a year for the best protection.

We've developed special products to help you out, like our Leather Wax and Wax Spray. These products clean and care for the leather all in one go. The wax is colorless, dries quickly, and doesn't stick, making it suitable for all leather colors (except for the Novum Series). We also made a handy instruction video that you can find on our care tips page. Never apply the leather wax directly to the product; always use a cloth or piece of fabric to spread the wax evenly.

Additionally, we have a Protection Spray that helps prevent your leather bag from transferring color onto light clothing. Color transfer can happen under certain conditions, especially in warm weather or when sweating. This spray was specially developed in collaboration with the manufacturer for optimal results. 

With these tips and products, your leather bag will stay in top condition! 

Due to current shipping regulations, customers outside the EU unfortunately can't order the Protect Spray and Wax Spray.

Do you have a physical store?

No, The Chesterfield Brand doesn’t have its own physical store. However, our brand is sold to over 1,500 retailers worldwide, many of which are physical stores. You’re more than welcome to visit any of them.

What can I do if a product is sold out?

Sometimes a product may be (temporarily) sold out. If an item is out of stock, you can leave your email address on the product page. You’ll get an email as soon as the product is back in stock.

Which countries do you ship to?

On this page, you’ll find an overview of shipping costs per country. Delivery times depend on our shipping partner, and we don’t have control over any possible delays. 

When do I pay shipping costs?

Shipping costs vary for different countries inside and outside the EU. In the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, all orders of 50 euros or more are delivered for free. You can find an overview of the shipping costs per country on this page.

Do I need an account to place an order?

No, you don’t need an account to place an order. However, with an account, you can view your previous orders and track the status of your current order. You can easily create an account during the checkout process. 

How is my order shipped?

Orders within the EU are shipped via DPD in a sturdy box. Orders outside the EU are shipped with FedEx. After shipping, you'll receive an email with a track & trace code. If you have an account, you can also track the status of your order there. 

What is the status of my order and when can I expect it?

You’ll receive several emails with updates about the status of your order. If you have an account, you can log in and check the status under "My Orders." If you order on weekdays before 3:30 PM*, your order will be shipped the same day. You’ll get an email with a Track & Trace code to follow your order. 

*On Fridays, orders placed before 3:00 PM will be shipped. 

Can I pick up my order from you?

Yes, you can pick up your order at our headquarter in Assen. Just get in touch with us first, either by email (customerservice@chesterfieldbags.com) or by phone (+31 50 763 08 89).You can't pay when picking it up; you need to complete the order in advance.

Can I pick up my order at a DPD pick-up point?

Yes, if you’re a customer in the EU, you can choose a DPD Pickup Point near you during the checkout process. Just enter the address of the DPD Pickup Point as the shipping address. You’ll get an email once your order is ready for pickup. This option is only available for orders within the EU.

Why haven't I received an email with a Track & Trace code?

If you haven’t received an email with a Track & Trace code, please check your spam or junk folder to see if the email ended up there. If you still can’t find it, feel free to contact our customer service at customerservice@chesterfieldbags.com or call +31 50 763 08 89. We’re happy to help.

Can I cancel my order?

Unfortunately, it’s no longer possible to cancel your order if it has already been handed over to the carrier. However, you can review the product at home, and if it doesn’t meet your expectations, you can easily return it. Different return rules apply for customers outside the EU. 

You can register your return through our website: Returns. Follow the steps to download a return label and attach it to the package. You can then drop off the package at a DPD (customers within EU only) point near you. Once we’ve received the package, the refunded amount will be processed within 14 days.

Is it possible to receive an invoice without VAT?

If you want a business order without VAT, you’ll need to contact customer service beforehand (customerservice@chesterfieldbags.com). They’ll help you get the right invoice without VAT.

How do I pay with a giftcard?

You can use a The Chesterfield Brand gift card to pay for your purchase. Your gift card comes with a special code. Just enter this code in the ‘Discount Code’ field during checkout. Keep in mind that you can’t combine the gift card with other discounts, like the welcome discount.

How do I use the welcome discount?

When you sign up for our newsletter, you’ll receive a €5 discount code. You can use this code once for an order of at least €50 on chesterfieldbags.com. The discount will be applied to the shipping costs. If you’re buying multiple products, the discount will be divided evenly. If you return any items, the discount will also be split across the returned items.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Can I exchange an item?

Unfortunately, we can’t exchange returned items. But you can always place a new order for the item you want. By doing so, you agree to our return conditions.

How do I return an item?

You can easily return your order using our return procedure. We charge a return fee of €4.95 for customers within the EU. The return fee will be deducted from the refund amount. You can choose another carrier, but we won’t cover those costs. Gift wrapping won’t be refunded. 

Different rules apply for customers outside the EU. 

You have 30 days to cancel your purchase without giving a reason, starting from the day you (or someone you’ve designated, not the carrier) receive the product. If you are a customer within the EU, you can quickly register your return via our website. For returns from outside the EU, return and customs fees are at your own expense.

No, we don’t recommend waxing your bag before the first use. We suggest using the Leather Wax or Wax Spray about four times a year for the best results.

Which types of leather can I use The Chesterfield Brand care products on?

You can use The Chesterfield Brand’s three care products on the following leather types:

  • On the leather parts of the Fusion Series and Washed Canvas Waxed 

Which leather types should I avoid using these care products on?

We recommend not to use the care products on parts that aren't made of leather, like the items from the Fusion Series and Washed Canvas Waxed.

Are The Chesterfield Brand products waterproof?

Our bags aren’t fully waterproof. They can handle a light rain shower if all zippers are closed properly, but long exposure to moisture may seep through to the inside. Regular care with our Leather Wax can help minimize water-related issues. Due to shipping regulations, the Leather Wax Spray isn’t available for countries outside the EU, so we recommend the Leather Wax for those customers.

Can the color of my bag rub off on my clothes?

Yes, a leather bag can rub off on light-colored clothes, especially if it's made of Wax Pull Up leather and during warm weather or sweating. You can prevent this by regularly treating your bag with the Protection Spray. Unfortunately, due to shipping regulations, this spray isn’t available for customers outside the EU.

What is the warranty on your products?

All The Chesterfield Brand leather bags and accessories come with a 2-year legal warranty.

SUSTAINABILITY

Where do The Chesterfield Brand products come from?

Our products come from India. We work closely with experienced suppliers there to create unique leather. We regularly visit the factories and ensure that every step of the production process is of high quality. We only choose SA8000 and/or SEDEX certified factories and use leather that complies with the REACH standard. A lot of our leather is vegetable-tanned, meaning it's chrome-free. 

 

The hides for our products mainly come from India and Poland. We use 90% cowhide and 10% buffalo leather. Leather is a by-product of the meat industry, and we turn it into sustainable, beautiful products. For example, our Cow Wax Pull Up leather is treated with natural waxes and oils, resulting in a soft and flexible finish. This leather can be easily re-treated, which contributes to the durability and lifespan of your product. 

What types of leather does The Chesterfield Brand use? 

We use two types of leather: cow leather and buffalo leather. With this leather, we've developed various finishes: Cow Wax Pull Up leather, Antique Crust Cow leather, Antique Buff Crumbled leather, Washed Vintage Cow leather, and Soft Class leather. In the Fusion Series, Cow Wax Pull Up leather is combined with 100% recycled nylon. In the Washed Canvas Waxed, you'll find a mix of canvas and Cow Wax Pull Up leather. Why are The Chesterfield Brand products never on sale?

We believe in fair pricing for our products, without discounts. We do this to ensure better working conditions and fair pay for everyone in our supply chain. We make sure that all materials are sourced responsibly, with respect for people and the environment, and that our retailers are fairly compensated for their efforts.
